Privacy notice

Don’t Get Prompted is an educational game, played for fun. It is designed to collect as little as possible.

Who is responsible

Laurence Dierickx, author of the game, published on ohmybox.info. Contact: aloha [at] ohmybox [dot] info

What is stored

  • The nickname you choose, your avatar and colour.
  • Your answers, your scores per game and your total.
  • The time you started and finished, and a random player code (it starts with “p-”).

The game does not ask for your real name, your organisation or your email. Please do not put your real name in the nickname.

Why

To show the live leaderboard during a session, to show the class results on the presenter screen, and to improve the questions (for example, to see which ones are often missed). Results are never sold, shared or used for advertising.

Legal basis

Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box before you play. Nothing is sent to the server if you do not tick it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking for your results to be deleted.

Where the data is kept

On the ohmybox.info web server, in a folder that cannot be opened from the web. Only the author can download the results. Other players see only the leaderboard: nickname, avatar, colour and score.

On your device

Your browser keeps your progress (local storage) so you can resume a game after a reload. You can clear it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. The game uses no cookies, no trackers, no analytics, and its fonts are hosted on the same site (no Google Fonts).

Protection against abuse

To limit spam, the server keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for about 10 minutes, then discards it. It is never stored with your results. Like any website, the hosting provider may also keep standard technical access logs.

How long

There is no fixed retention period. Results are kept until the leaderboard is emptied or the game is taken offline, whichever comes first. You can ask for your results to be deleted at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your results. Write to aloha [at] ohmybox [dot] info and give your player code (shown at the end of the game) or your nickname and the date you played. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country (in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority).
